Acronis Cyber Protect backup monitoring.

Acronis reports per protection plan. Where the notification is set differs between Cyber Protect Cloud and the on-premises editions, so the steps name what to look for rather than one menu.

Built in
A rule for Acronis Cyber Protect reports comes with every workspace. No agent, no access to the backup server.
Per job
The report carries no job name: give each backup its own address, or keep one backup per client.
1 min
A report shows under its backup within a minute of arriving.
15 min
Between checks for reports that did not arrive. Silence is never read as success.

Point Acronis Cyber Protect at your client address.

Every client gets its own email address when you add it. Reports sent or forwarded there are read by the built-in rule for Acronis Cyber Protect, and each result lands on the backup it belongs to.

The full guide, step by step
  1. Open the protection plan you want to monitor → Settings.
  2. Under notifications/alerts, add the client address as an email recipient for backup completion and failure events.
  3. If this product cannot include the job name in the email, use the backup's exact address instead.

How a report finds its backup.

Matching
The built-in rule reads the result of the report but not a job name. With one backup under the client, every report sent to the client address is credited to it. With several, give each job its own address (shown in the job drawer) wherever the product lets you set a recipient per job. Reports that cannot be told apart wait in the Inbox for you to assign.
Check it works
Run the job once, or wait for the next scheduled run. Within a minute the report appears under the backup, or in the Inbox when it could not be matched. A product's own "send test email" is not a backup result: expect it in the Inbox, where you can ignore it.

Then every Acronis Cyber Protect job has a status.

Status
Each report sets Healthy, Warning or Failed. Failures in a row count as a streak.
Missing
No report inside the job’s window and the backup turns Missing, like a failure would.
Attention
Failed, missing and warning backups are listed for the team, to acknowledge, snooze or resolve.
Alerts
Email, Slack, Microsoft Teams or PagerDuty, and a recovery notice when the next report is OK.
Everything the product does

Also read out of the box.

Most MSPs run more than one backup product. They all report into the same list.

Start with one Acronis Cyber Protect backup.

Point its report at the address you get on sign-up. Within a day you will know whether it reported.
