All setup guides
One guide per supported backup product.
Last updated
Each backup product sends its reports in its own way. These guides show, product by product, where to set the recipient so reports reach BackupSentinel, and how each report finds its backup.
Before you start
You need the address the reports should go to. Every client has one, shown on the client page and in Settings → Client addresses. Every backup also has an address of its own, shown in the job drawer.
- For Veeam B&R, Synology DSM and Duplicati, the built-in rule reads the job name, so one client address covers every job of that client. Name each backup in BackupSentinel exactly like the job in the product.
- For the other products the report carries no job name. Send each job to its own backup address, or keep one backup per client.
Client addresses explains both in detail.

After the first report
Run the job once, or wait for the next scheduled run. Within a minute the report appears under its backup, which turns Healthy, Warning or Failed, or in the Inbox when it could not be matched to a backup. From the Inbox you can start monitoring it or assign it to an existing backup.
Then set how often the job runs, so a report that stops arriving is noticed: Job statuses and missing reports.
